Bounce Rate shows the percentage of visitors with a single page view. It’s used to measure visitor engagement but is not ideal for all sites. A visitor could read your article for 2 minutes but that visitor would be considered a non-engaged (bounced) visitor if they haven’t also visited a different page on your site.
You can set up custom events to improve this. All custom events are considered interactive so they’ll count towards the bounce rate. A visitor that converts on an event is not considered a bounce even if they don’t visit a different page on your site.
Would be nice to do something like this by default to better show the engagement level so a manual setup of custom events is not needed. A visitor should do at least one of the following during their visit to be considered engaged rather than bounced:
