Do not include today in last 7/30 report

The “last 7 days” and “last 30 days” report is counting the “current” day, which is incomplete. It would be nice to exclude this form reports.

Agreed, this is so broken from a logic perspective. Every time I have to manually pick dates so as not to include an incomplete day. It should not include the current day, rather the last 7 days.

Agreed. I emailed support about this. Since “today” is almost never complete this causes problems especially when you do comparisons.

I agree. I’m surprised this still has not been changed after this issue was raised over a year ago. I don’t know any other similar reporintg software that would include today in ‘last X days’ reports.

As mentioned in GitHub issue (https://github.com/plausible/analytics/issues/3342#issuecomment-2812205893 ), the “today” inclusion was extremely useful.

Now we can’t see how today relates to the last-week performance as the day goes on. Example in the attachment.

This was not broken. Quite the opposite. You are now removing good data from being visible.

I’d agree this was not useful in the “day” view. But in hours is very useful.

Please reconsider.

I agree. You’ve removed useful data from the chart. The issue was including the current day as one of the days in period selected (i.e. as the 7th day in a 7 day chart even if the day had just started). Please can you add it back to the chart but remove the data from the figures (i.e. in a 7 day chart it should be shown as a dotted line for the 8th day with vistors numbers etc only shown for the previous 7 days). Thanks

Hard disagree, last implies a full period, you can always use today to compare, or you can do a custom range comparison. It should not be included as it isn’t a complete period.

Just to clear…I wouldn’t want today’s data included in the metrics shown as they should only include the full period selected. I just found the dotted line on the chart for the current day useful to see how it was progressing.

I appreciate that can be seen with custom date ranges or looking at today only but waned to save a few clicks. I understand this may not suit everyone and I’d rather have the current set up where the previous period only includes full days rather than when metrics included partial days. I was just hoping for a hybrid of the old and new chart.

Nooooooooooo 🥲 The dotted line for the “today” inclusion was extremely useful.

There should either be a checkbox “Include current day” or “Exclude current day”, but it was so useful to get an overview of how the current day was performing relative to the previous week. I understand that you can set a custom range, but its tedious to not have it on as soon as you visit your stats.
