Google Discover as a referral source

Would be nice if we could somehow identify Google Discover clicks and list them as a referral source in Top Sources. Currently Google Discover traffic would fall within the Google source

This would be game-changing.

hi @Branden Harvey! we’d still like to do this but it’s not easy to do. basically Search Console is the only place that is reliably showing Discover traffic so we need to figure out a way to correlate that with what we see on our side without mistakenly assigning some Google organic search traffic to Discover

This is becoming increasingly important given what’s happening to publishers’ search traffic at the moment.

just a note that we’ve looked into Google Discover but couldn’t find a reliable way to differentiate Google Discover traffic from Google Search traffic so currently we include clicks from both in the Google source. we will revisit it again if Google changes things
