Custom sources to channels

Today I mark my ads on Meta (Facebook + Instagram ads in the same campaign) with “utm_source=meta&utm_medium=paid”. However, in Plausible this creates a new source, that is not recognized as for what it is - Paid social. Instead, it goes into the channel “Paid Other”.

Often times, things would be correctly auto-categorized by the Plausible-system, but it would be great to have the option to manually assign specific sources into specific categories. Maybe this needs to be broken down furter a bit (depending if traffic from the source is paid or not), but at least it would be nice to be able to affect how things are categorized.

thanks for the feedback @Martin Persson - MM Vision!

manual/custom channel categorisation is something we will consider in the future. currently if you can change your tags, you can control what channels we put the clicks in by following our channel categorizations (basically by for instance using IG or FB rather than meta for utm_source): https://plausible.io/docs/top-referrers#channels
