We run several sites and use a consolidated view to get an overall picture of performance. Each site has a revenue goal called “Checkout completed,” and revenue tracking works well at the site level. In the consolidated view, however, the goal appears only as a regular custom event with no revenue data. We therefore have to open each site separately and add the numbers up manually to see our total revenue.
We understand the reason: each site can track revenue in a different currency, so the amounts can’t simply be added together. We’d like to suggest a few ways this could work:
Same-currency case (quick win): If all sites in a consolidated view use the same currency for a goal with the same name, show revenue normally. This probably covers most users with consolidated views, since multi-site setups often belong to one business operating in one currency.
Reporting currency for the consolidated view: Let users choose a reporting currency in the consolidated view’s settings. Revenue from sites using other currencies would be converted into it. As far as we understand, Plausible already converts revenue when an event’s currency differs from the goal’s currency, so the same logic could be reused here. To keep historical data stable, conversion could use the exchange rate on the day of each event. A short note in the UI could explain that converted totals are approximate.
Per-currency breakdown (fallback): If conversion isn’t wanted, show revenue grouped by currency, for example “EUR 12,400 / USD 3,150 / GBP 980.” This would still be far more useful than showing no revenue at all.
Any of these would be very valuable to us, and a combination might work best: option 1 as the default when currencies match, and option 2 or 3 when they don’t.
Thanks for considering it!
